There's no "cross save", nor there's a need for "cross save", all versions of the game will save to their server regardless. Honkai Impact 3rd is an Online game that saves to the server.
Sadly, kids nowadays simply use the word they see without giving it a second thoughts on what's the real meaning of that word. Thus a cross-saving, and not even a cloud save. It originally meant for those mobile games that saved locally and only uploads the save to another device when triggered. I still recommend the Hoyoverse client over Steam, but it really doesn't make much difference. Yes, due to it's using local currency from Steam Wallet it's not the same as official version that uses standard USD as an overall price and it may different depending on countries you are in.
